LetMeRepair is a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) company focusing on supporting the complete, “presales” and “after sales cycles” for the IT, office automation, consumer Electronics and telecommunication, robotics and electromobility industries. The LetMeRepair group of companies consists of more than 14 independently operating companies with over 22 subsidiaries in Europe and South Africa. The further expansion of a specially developed “face to the customer” franchise system is one of our core growth strategies.

 

We need you in our young team as Compliance Officer to strengthen our group of companies.

 

Compliance Officer job description:

The Compliance Officer reports to senior management and has a functional role in the organisation. He works closely with the managing directors and has an advisory role in the organisation.

Our Compliance Officer ensures that our group of companies is compliant with Legal and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensures that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules and regulations.

The Compliance Officer´s responsibilities include advising on our compliance with GDPR and local data protection laws, monitoring our adherence to GDPR standards, and has the ability to advise in business funding transactions including debt and equity transactions and structured finance. You will also create policies that enforce compliance and coordinate Compliance and GDPR training to our European management teams. Compliance officers provide an in-house service that effectively supports business areas in their duty to comply with relevant laws and regulations and internal procedures.

To be successful in this role, you should have a legal qualification, several years’ experience as a compliance officer, in-depth knowledge of GDPR (or equivalent) data protection laws, data privacy best practice and the nature of its data processing activities. You must be familiar with risk management and our industry standards. You should also know how to perform audits to ensure our compliance conformity and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

On group level you act as point of contact with supervisory authorities and internal teams for all legal and GDPR matters

Improve, in close cooperation with our German GDPR manager, an EMEA Guideline and implement an effective compliance program for the LetMeRepair group of companies

Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to procedures and compliance within the company

Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed

Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation

Draft and revise company policies

Ensure we address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes (e.g., delete their information from our databases)

Liaise with other organisations that process data on our behalf

Educate and train management on regulations and industry practices

Proactively perform audits and determine whether we need to alter our procedures to comply with regulations

Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance

Governance oversight and reporting, including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting

 

Requirements:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with LLB with credits in:

- Introduction to Legal Philosophy

- Interpretation of Statutes

- Law of contract

- Law of business ethics

A Professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Practitioner, Corporate Governance)

At least 15 years Post Qualification Experience in a professional/advisory/management role

A proven track record in legal, governance and compliance roles

Experienced in risk management, data protection and legal compliance

Written and verbal communication skills in English are essential

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all management levels in the organisation

Integrity and professional ethics with the ability to remain impartial and report all non-compliance

Organizational skills with attention to detail

Practical and Legal English (native speaker)
